Had a blast on my trip

Just got back from the Costa Rica Unplugged trip. It was super fun! Met some cool people and saw amazing stuff. The activities were awesome, like ziplining and exploring the rainforest. Everything was pretty chill and easy, no real stress, which is exactly what I wanted for a vacation. Definitely had a great time.

Consistently good trips

This was my third Contiki trip, did the Vietnam Experience this time. Before, I've done the Greek Island Hopping and a couple of their Short Trips and Festivals. They are always reliable; the tours are well-planned, and the accommodations are what you expect. No surprises, which is good when you're traveling. That's why I keep coming back.

Great value for the price

I just did the Thai Island Hopper West trip. I was looking for the best deal and found a pretty good flash sale. Got a decent discount, which made the whole thing feel really worth it. The price included so much, definitely felt like I got good value for my money. First time booking with them, but happy with the savings.

Mostly positive, some small issues

I went on the Italian Espresso tour. The itinerary was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the places we visited. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the trip fun. However, the booking process online was a little clunky at one point, and I had to call customer service to sort out a payment issue. They fixed it quickly though. The value was good for what was included, but the initial website experience could use some improvement.

Amazing Machu Picchu trip!

My Machu Picchu Explorer trip was incredible! I couldn't believe how smoothly everything ran. The views were breathtaking, and our guide was so passionate about the history. It was truly an unforgettable adventure, and I'm already planning my next trip with them! This company really knows how to do travel right!

Has anyone used one of those multi-trip discounts? I'm thinking of doing two back-to-back, wanna know if it actually works or if it's a hassle to apply.

H Hannah M. 3 weeks ago
I did it last year for my Euro trips, worked fine! Just mention it when you book or if you're doing it online there's usually an option.

Yep, they're stackable with other deals sometimes too like early payment. Makes a pretty big difference if you're doing more than one.

quick question: is Contiki legit? I've heard mixed things, wanna make sure it's not some fly-by-night operation.

B Barbara Lopez 3 weeks ago
Totally legit. They've been around forever, like decades. My parents even went on one back in the day haha.

Yeah they're a huge company, don't worry about that. They're like one of the original group tour companies for younger people. Think they're owned by the same group as Trafalgar.

Is Contiki really only for 18-35 year olds? I'm 36 but super young at heart, hoping they might make an exception.

D Daniel Perez 1 month ago
Yeah, unfortunately, it's pretty strict with the age limit. They check ages during booking and sometimes on tour.

They're pretty firm on that 18-35 thing. I think it's part of their whole vibe. You might have better luck with G Adventures or Intrepid if you're just outside that range.

Hey guys, thinking about booking a Contiki trip for next summer. Are flights usually included in the price? Or do I need to budget separately for that?

A Adam Sanchez 1 month ago
Nah, flights are almost never included with Contiki. You gotta sort that out yourself.

S Susan Smith 1 month ago
Yeah, usually just the tour itself, accommodation, and some meals. Always check the 'what's included' section for each specific trip, but don't count on airfare.

Considering the 'Spain and Portugal Highlights' trip. How much spending money did you guys find you needed for things not included, like extra dinners or souvenirs?

L Linda Gomez 2 weeks ago
Totally depends on how much you drink and shop, lol. I'd say at least $50-75 a day to be comfortable, more if you're doing optional activities every day.

For Spain/Portugal, I budgeted like 100 bucks a day just to be safe, ended up spending less some days and more others. Better to have extra than run out, especially for unexpected fun stuff.
